Requests the City and County of Honolulu to adopt building codes that preserve historic architecture in communities throughout Oahu.

Acknowledges that the City and County has previously created special area plans and urban design plans for multiple neighborhoods, including Wahiawa, Kapolei, Waipahu, and Kaneohe between 1992 and 2011.

Notes that urban design plans are intended to balance development needs with maintaining a community's unique historic identity and character.

Recognizes that coordinated landscape designs aligned with existing architectural themes can support urban design plans that reflect a rural town's historic identity.

Directs certified copies of the resolution to be transmitted to the Board of Land and Natural Resources Chairperson, Mayor of Honolulu, and Director of the Department of Planning and Permitting.
