Request the Department of Education to support the growth of the Kids' Savings Project throughout Hawaii schools.

Participating students have collectively deposited over $450,000, averaging $112 per student per year, with bank personnel visiting schools to provide hands-on money management experience.

Survey data shows 96 percent of Hawaii parents favor school-based savings programs, and research indicates even modest savings increase likelihood of higher education aspiration and college attendance.

Transmit certified copies of the resolution to the Chairperson of the Board of Education and Superintendent of Education.
