S.C.R. No. 31 - Financial Literacy in Hawaii Schools

• Requests the Board of Education to incorporate financial literacy into the curriculum at all levels in Hawaii public schools.

• Requires modification of high school graduation requirements to include successful completion of a financial literacy course.

• Mandates a financial literacy curriculum covering earning income, spending, saving, borrowing, investing, managing money, credit and debt, taxes, careers and entrepreneurship, and financial decision making.

• Directs certified copies of the resolution be transmitted to the Chairperson of the Board of Education and Superintendent of Education.
