Urges the Department of Health, Department of Land and Natural Resources, and the Airports and Harbors Divisions of the Department of Transportation to establish a Chikungunya Virus Advisory Committee to address the threat of chikungunya virus outbreak in Hawaii.

Committee shall research and report to the Legislature on Vector Control Unit staffing and resources, public-private pest control partnerships, public education methods, surveillance coordination strategies, and emergency health care policies for rural areas.

Committee membership consists of one representative each from the Vector Control Unit, Sanitation Branch, Department of Health, Department of Land and Natural Resources, Airports Division, and Harbors Division.

Committee members shall select a chairperson from among themselves and serve without compensation but with expense reimbursement; committee shall submit findings and recommendations to the Legislature no later than twenty days before the 2016 Regular Session.

Committee ceases to exist on June 30, 2016.
