Department of Land and Natural Resources requested to conduct a feasibility and cost study for constructing a boat ramp in Puko'o, Moloka'i.

Study addresses limited marine access on Moloka'i's east end due to shallow mud flats and fringing reefs that make boat launching and docking impossible during low tide.

Current conditions force east end residents to travel to Kaunakakai Harbor for boat access, consuming significant time and fuel; most families rely on fishing as primary food source.

Department must submit report to Legislature no later than twenty days before the 2016 Regular Session with findings and recommendations on feasibility and construction costs.

Certified copy of resolution to be transmitted to the Chairperson of the Board of Land and Natural Resources.
