Department of Education requested to review the need for the Hawaii School for the Deaf and Blind, which serves students ages 3-20 who are deaf, hard-of-hearing, blind, partially-sighted, or deaf-blind.

Department must determine whether students currently attending the Hawaii School for the Deaf and Blind can be integrated into their home schools instead.

Department to submit a report to the Legislature with findings, recommendations, and any proposed legislation no later than twenty days prior to the convening of the regular session 2016.

Certified copies of the resolution to be transmitted to the Chairperson of the Board of Education, Superintendent of Education, and Chair of the Hawaii School for the Deaf and Blind School Community Council.
