Request Department of Education to review feasibility of continuing the Lahainaluna High School boarding program on Maui.

Lahainaluna High School serves approximately 1,000 students total, with approximately 43 students in the boarding program, which operates at no cost to students.

Lahainaluna High School is the only Hawaii public school with a boarding program.

Department of Education must provide a report to the Legislature no later than twenty days before the 2016 Regular Session convening, including findings, recommendations, benefits, costs, and proposed legislation if applicable.

Certified copies of the resolution shall be transmitted to the Chairperson of the Board of Education and Superintendent of Education.
