Legislature supports the concept of the Rainbow Stop Pilot Project to create state-approved rainbow viewing locations throughout Hawaii with safe roadside areas for residents and tourists.

Rainbow Stops would function as scenic viewpoints similar to pullouts, allowing visitors to safely view and photograph Hawaii's rainbows for personal use and global promotion.

Rainbow Stop locations would be preprogrammed into GPS systems to enable easy access and discovery by both tourists and residents.

Certified copies of the resolution are to be transmitted to the Chairperson of the Board of Land and Natural Resources, the Chairperson of the Hawaii Tourism Authority, and the Administrator of the Division of State Parks.
