Urges the Department of Health, Department of Land and Natural Resources, and the Airports Division and Harbors Division of the Department of Transportation to establish the Chikungunya Virus Advisory Committee to address the threat of chikungunya virus outbreak in Hawaii.

Committee shall research and report on personnel and resources needed for the Vector Control Unit, public-private partnerships for pest control services, public education methods, surveillance and treatment coordination strategies, and emergency health care policies for rural areas.

Committee composition includes one representative each from the Vector Control Unit, Sanitation Branch of the Department of Health, Department of Health, Department of Land and Natural Resources, Department of Transportation Airports Division, and Department of Transportation Harbors Division.

Committee members shall select a chairperson from among themselves, serve without compensation but receive reimbursement for expenses, and submit written findings and recommendations to the Legislature no later than twenty days before the 2016 Regular Session convenes.

Committee shall cease to exist on June 30, 2016.
