Requests the Department of Education to establish a Hawaii public schools financial literacy task force with initial meeting by August 14, 2015.

Task force composition includes the Superintendent of Education (chair), Hawaii State Teachers Association president, three educators selected by the Superintendent, three financial institution representatives selected by the Senate Education Committee chair, and three at-large members selected by the House Education Committee chair.

Task force directed to develop recommendations for requiring all public school students to complete a financial literacy course before high school graduation, including curriculum selection, time requirements, and identification of legal and cultural concerns.

Task force must create data metrics to measure curriculum effectiveness, develop a plan to secure financial and political support including trained teachers, and identify existing financial literacy programs in schools.

Task force shall submit findings and recommendations to the Legislature no later than twenty days before the 2016 Regular Session and be dissolved on June 30, 2016.
