Request that the Board of Education televise or make available online its meetings to increase public access and transparency.

Recognize that televised or online meetings allow the public to view actual proceedings and gain greater context than meeting minutes alone can provide.

Note that 'Ōlelo Community Media has successfully televised selected proceedings of the Legislature and Honolulu City Council, demonstrating the feasibility of such broadcasts.

Emphasize that improved public access to Board of Education meetings would support the Governor's Open Government Plan and enable more informed public participation in education policy decisions.

Direct that certified copies of the resolution be transmitted to the Chairperson of the Board of Education and the Superintendent of Education.
