S.R. NO. 95 Summary

• Requests the Department of Health to review and analyze all current oral health initiatives in Hawaii, including the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) program, and prepare progress reports on each initiative.

• Directs the Department to report on progress made in developing a comprehensive state oral health assessment that includes research, clinical services, public education, workforce training, and analysis of gaps in dental health care access and social determinants.

• Requires the Department to provide accounting of all public and private sector matching funds received through the CDC grant or other oral health funding sources.

• Mandates the Department submit findings and recommendations to the Legislature no later than twenty days before the 2016 Regular Session, including current assessment status, comprehensive oral health policy recommendations, and funding recommendations.
