HI HB2070

Establishes a tuition waiver program for students enrolled in Hawaii community colleges under the board of regents.

Requires applicants to be U.S. citizens or eligible non-citizens, state residents for at least 12 months, and graduates of a Hawaii public or private high school.

Limits eligibility to students under age 26 who are admitted as full-time students and maintain satisfactory academic progress and continuous full-time enrollment.

Requires applicants to be physically present in the state and allows for approved medical or personal leaves of absence.

Effective date is July 1, 2016.
