Appropriates funds to the Hawaii judiciary for fiscal year 2016-2017 to establish Hawaiian language resources in collaboration with the University of Hawaii system.

Implements recommendations from a 2015 task force (H.C.R. No. 217) that examined creating Hawaiian language resources for the state judiciary.

Recognizes Hawaii State Constitution Article X, Section 4 requiring the state to promote Hawaiian culture, history, and language, and Article XV, Section 4 designating English and Hawaiian as official state languages.

Addresses the finding that Hawaiian language remains highly endangered despite decades of revitalization efforts and seeks to build long-term capacity and training of Hawaiian language experts.

Takes effect July 1, 2016, with specific appropriation amount left blank in the bill text.
