HI HB2200

Authorizes the chairperson of the board of land and natural resources to transfer funds from the department's public land trust accounts to the Kaho'olawe rehabilitation trust fund, with transfers requiring board approval and not exceeding an unspecified annual limit.

Allows the office of Hawaiian affairs to expend public land trust revenues for purposes consistent with the Kaho'olawe rehabilitation trust fund, including preservation, restoration, cultural practices, and education.

Adds transfers from public land trust accounts as an eligible funding source for the Kaho'olawe rehabilitation trust fund, in addition to existing federal moneys, legislative appropriations, grants, and donations.

Establishes that the Kaho'olawe island reserve is used exclusively for native Hawaiian cultural and spiritual practices, archaeological and environmental preservation, habitat restoration, and education.

Takes effect July 1, 2050.
