Requires Hawaii courts to forward all adult guardianship appointment orders to the Hawaii criminal justice data center within fourteen days of appointment.

Mandates the Hawaii criminal justice data center submit guardianship information to the Federal Bureau of Investigation for inclusion in the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) database.

Requires the Hawaii criminal justice data center to maintain guardianship orders for disclosure to law enforcement for firearms permitting and registration purposes under chapter 134.

Applies retroactively to all guardianship orders of appointment regardless of appointment date.

Takes effect January 1, 2017.
