Permits students to self-administer blood glucose monitoring at school, in addition to existing permissions for self-administration of medication for asthma, anaphylaxis, diabetes, and other life-threatening illnesses.

Allows Department of Education employees and agents to volunteer to administer blood glucose monitoring or assist students with blood glucose monitoring.

Requires parents or guardians to provide written certification from a physician, advanced practice registered nurse, or physician assistant authorizing blood glucose monitoring and stating the student has medical orders allowing volunteers to assist.

Mandates that volunteer employees receive instruction in blood glucose monitoring from a qualified health care professional (licensed physician, physician assistant, advanced practice registered nurse, registered nurse, or certified diabetes educator).

Requires schools to store blood glucose monitoring supplies in a secure but accessible location, with supplies provided by the student's parent or guardian; effective July 1, 2016.
