HI HB2549

Adds the Director of Business, Economic Development, and Tourism as a permanent member and designee option to the Broadband Assistance Advisory Council.

Requires the President of the Senate and Speaker of the House to ensure that appointments to the council include representation from each of Hawaii's counties: Hawaii, Maui, Kauai, and Honolulu.

Allows the council chairperson to designate representatives from interested public or private sector organizations to serve as ad hoc members of the council or its work groups as needed.

Aligns all council member terms to expire on June 30, 2019, with subsequent four-year terms commencing July 1 and expiring June 30 every four years thereafter.

Takes effect July 1, 2016.
