Adds definition of "imminently dangerous to self or others" to mean a person will likely become dangerous to self or others within the next forty-five days without intervention.

Repeals law enforcement authority to unilaterally take into custody and transport persons subject to assisted community treatment orders; requires a court order directing such transport instead.

Extends maximum duration of court-ordered assisted community treatment from 180 days to one year.

Restricts circumstances where subjects of assisted community treatment orders can be physically forced to take medication to situations where the person is in an emergency department or admitted to a hospital.

Repeals the July 1, 2020 sunset date for assisted community treatment provisions, making them permanent law.
