Appropriates $100,000 from the beach restoration special fund for fiscal year 2015-2016 and $100,000 for fiscal year 2016-2017 to fund a beach erosion study for the island of Oahu.

Study shall include shoreline areas within the fiftieth representative district and address coastal management planning related to beach erosion and sea level rise.

University of Hawaii school of ocean and earth science and technology is designated to expend the appropriated funds.

Legislative findings note that inadequate coastal management planning has led to beach erosion at Kuhio Beach in Waikiki, Sunset Beach on the North Shore, and Kailua Beach, and that updated erosion data is essential to protect Hawaii's beaches.

Act takes effect on July 1, 2015.
