HI HCR100

Urges the Department of Land and Natural Resources (DLNR) and its Division of Forestry and Wildlife to actively manage wildlife to sustain game populations for subsistence and recreational hunting.

Requests that DLNR provide greater public access to land for hunting purposes.

Directs DLNR to improve evaluation and management efforts on each island to support hunting activities.

Establishes that game management, which involves controlling and manipulating wildlife populations and habitats, is a component of conservation and should be a goal of wildlife management.

Requires certified copies of the resolution to be transmitted to the Governor, the Chairperson of the Board of Land and Natural Resources, and the Mayor of each county.
