• Expresses support for and requests Hawaii's counties to adopt the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals as a framework for assessing Hawaii's efforts toward social justice and sustainability.

• The 17 goals address poverty, hunger, health, education, gender equality, water, energy, economic growth, infrastructure, inequality, sustainable communities, consumption, climate action, ocean life, land conservation, justice, and global partnerships.

• Urges county councils to use the 17 sustainable development goals as measurements for each county's efforts regarding people, peace, and the planet.

• Requests the Governor transmit copies of the resolution to county mayors, county council chairs, and heads of state agencies including education, health, human services, and the University of Hawaii.
