Notes that the last constitutional convention in Hawaii occurred in 1978, with voters rejecting convention proposals in both 1998 and 2008.

Cites Hawaii Constitution Article XVII, Section 2, which requires the convention question be automatically submitted if more than nine years elapse without the question being placed on the ballot.

States that since the question was last submitted in 2008, more than nine years will have elapsed by 2018, triggering the automatic submission requirement.

Requests certified copies be transmitted to legislative leadership, the Governor, and Lieutenant Governor.
