Commends and honors Stephanie Mew as the 2016 Hawaii State Teacher of the Year, selected from over 11,000 educators in the state.

Recognizes seven district teachers of the year: Alicia Chang (Honolulu), Lynn Yoshioka (Central), Kathy Lin (Leeward), Darryl Yagi (Hawaii), Joy Aulani Takatsuka (Maui), and David Paul Braun, Jr. (Kauai).

Acknowledges each teacher's specific accomplishments, including use of STEM programs, support for extracurricular activities, science education, and community engagement.

Extends the House of Representatives' sincere mahalo and best wishes for continued success to all honorees.
