Commends the Ka Iwi Coalition and Livable Hawaii Kai Hui for protecting and preserving the Ka Iwi Coast, the largest undeveloped stretch of coastline wilderness on Oahu extending from Portlock to Makapuʻu.

Recognizes 40 years of community efforts to prevent development of the Ka Iwi Coast, including the 1988 rezoning of the Sandy Beach area into a preservation district and the 1995 Ka Iwi Action Council's halt of twelve parcel development plans.

Acknowledges the 2006 successful "No Cabins on Ka Iwi" campaign that prevented construction of cliff-side cabins and the re-designation of makai lands from "urban" to "conservation" status.

Recognizes the 2015 "Save Ka Iwi Coast" fund drive that raised $500,000 in 8 weeks from over 1,000 donors (three-fourths contributing less than $200) to purchase 182 acres of mauka lands.

Acknowledges that Livable Hawaii Kai Hui now owns and manages the two parcels with the City & County and Trust for Public Land as co-conservation easement holders, ensuring continued public access to East Oahu's coastal and cultural resources.
