Expresses endorsement and support for the Department of Land and Natural Resources to use durable and temporary geo-synthetic materials to protect the Kaanapali Beach Walk from shoreline erosion until beach nourishment can be completed.

Recognizes that recent storm waves have accelerated erosion of the shoreline fronting the Kaanapali Beach Walk, a six-thousand-foot recreational walking pathway.

Notes that Kaanapali Beach contributes over $2 billion annually to State and Maui County economies and serves as a natural buffer against property damage from storm waves.

References Act 117 (2015) which allocates transient accommodations tax revenues for protection and preservation of beaches important to the visitor industry.

Directs transmission of certified copies to the Chairperson of the Board of Land and Natural Resources and the Mayor of Maui County.
