Requests the Executive Office on Early Learning to collaborate with the Executive Office on Aging to encourage care providers to create intergenerational shared sites combining childcare and senior care services.

Identifies intergenerational shared sites as settings where children, youth, and older adults participate in services and programs concurrently at the same location.

Notes that successful shared care sites already exist in Honolulu, Kapolei, and Kahului with participants engaging in planned and informal intergenerational activities.

Recognizes that intergenerational interaction benefits both keiki and kupuna by reducing senior isolation, providing children access to elder wisdom, and allowing working families access to more efficient shared care arrangements.

Directs certified copies of the resolution to be transmitted to the Directors of the Executive Office on Early Learning and Executive Office on Aging.
