Requests the Director of Health to establish a Sepsis Best Practices Group composed of one physician champion and one administrative representative from each of Hawaii's acute care hospitals.

Group shall meet regularly to discuss best practices, educational opportunities, and emerging federal sepsis policies, and facilitate sepsis improvement needs-assessments within each hospital facility.

Group tasked with monitoring Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services quality measures, establishing a sepsis incidence baseline for the State, and partnering with critical access hospitals to disseminate best practices.

Group shall encourage adoption of sepsis educational materials and initiatives by facilities and incorporate findings into a comprehensive sepsis combat plan developed by the Department of Health.

Group required to submit written report of findings and recommendations, including proposed legislation, to the Legislature no later than twenty days prior to the 2017 Regular Session.
