Prohibits noncompete and nonsolicit clauses in employment contracts for employees of technology businesses, rendering such clauses void and unenforceable.

Defines "technology business" as a trade or business deriving the majority of revenue from software development or information technology development, excluding broadcast and telecommunications carriers.

Permits employers to maintain trade secret protection agreements under existing law (section 480-4(c)(4)) as an alternative to noncompete clauses.

Applies to all written, binding noncompete and nonsolicit clauses entered into after June 30, 2015.

Effective January 7, 2059.
