HI SB153

Prohibits the Supreme Court from requiring attorneys to join any private organization or association as a condition for obtaining or maintaining a law license in Hawaii.

Replaces reference to "any bar association" with "a disciplinary body authorized by the supreme court" as the entity authorized to maintain actions for violations of unauthorized practice of law.

Allows the Attorney General or a court-authorized disciplinary body to bring enforcement actions against individuals practicing law without authorization.

Takes effect upon approval.
