Law enforcement agencies must complete an inventory of all stored sexual assault evidence collection kits by December 1, 2016.

Each law enforcement agency must submit a written report to the Department of the Attorney General by December 1, 2016, listing the number of untested kits and collection dates.

The Department of the Attorney General must submit a comprehensive report to the President of the Senate and Speaker of the House by January 1, 2017, including the total number of untested kits by county and agency, past testing decision processes, and progress to date.

The Attorney General's report must include a plan for reducing untested kits, prioritization criteria for future testing, tracking improvements, victim notification procedures, cost projections, potential funding sources including federal grants, and recommendations for legislative action.

Defines "forensic medical examination," "sexual assault evidence collection kit," and "untested sexual assault evidence collection kit" for purposes of this chapter.
