Permits the John A. Burns School of Medicine special fund to be used for loan repayment for certain health care professionals in addition to physician workforce assessment and planning activities.

Removes the annual $245,000 expenditure cap on the special fund, allowing unlimited spending for authorized purposes.

Requires that at least 50 percent of physician workforce assessment fees deposited into the special fund be used for physician workforce assessment and planning efforts in rural and medically underserved areas.

Makes permanent the physician workforce assessment fee by removing the June 30, 2017 sunset date from prior legislation (Acts 18 and 186).

Takes effect upon approval.
