Adds new subsection (e) to Hawaii Revised Statutes Section 6E-5.5 authorizing Hawaii historic places review board members to visit historic properties without complying with open meetings law requirements under sections 92-2.5 and 92-3.

Exemption applies when board members are carrying out their duties, including viewing interiors of private homes and visiting Native Hawaiian archaeological sites.

Addresses concern that public knowledge of certain archaeological site locations would be detrimental to preservation and that open meetings requirements make site visits impossible or extremely difficult.

Board members continue to serve without compensation but remain eligible for reimbursement of necessary expenses including travel costs.
