SB 2613 Summary

• Expands the national board certification incentive program to include school counselors and school psychologists in addition to teachers.

• Provides $5,000 annual bonus for teachers, counselors, and school psychologists who maintain current national board certification.

• Provides additional $5,000 annual bonus for certified educators employed at focus, priority, or superintendent's zone schools; schools with high turnover rates; or hard-to-fill schools.

• Authorizes continuing $5,000 annual bonuses for educators who worked in qualifying high-need schools that later lose that designation, provided they maintain certification and continue employment at the same school through their ten-year certification period.
