Director of Commerce and Consumer Affairs, in consultation with the Comptroller, shall develop both short-term and long-term strategies for the upkeep, repair, and maintenance of Sunset Memorial Park in Pearl City, Oahu.

Director shall examine all options for repairing and maintaining the park, including the feasibility of having the State take ownership of Sunset Memorial Park.

Director is requested to submit a report of findings and recommendations, including any proposed legislation, to the legislature no later than twenty days prior to the convening of the regular session of 2017.

The Act addresses the neglected condition of Sunset Memorial Park, which has had no registered owner since its previous owner's death and has suffered damage including a damaged mausoleum, sinking graves, and broken or obscured grave markers.

The Act takes effect on July 1, 2050.
