S.B. 475 Summary

• Adds "emergency" meetings to the written public notice requirement in section 92-7 and changes "which" to "that" in agenda description language.

• Requires boards to post meeting notices on the state or county electronic calendar at least six calendar days before meetings, in addition to filing with the lieutenant governor or county clerk.

• Establishes that if notice is filed or electronically posted late, the lieutenant governor or county clerk must immediately notify the board, and the meeting shall be canceled; requires posting of cancellation notice on the electronic calendar and at the meeting site.

• Allows meeting notice recipients to receive notifications by postal or electronic mail according to their preference, and requires boards to file and provide board packets to requesters when distributed to board members before a meeting.

• Requires minutes from all meetings to be publicly posted on the board's website or appropriate state or county website, and clarifies that meeting recordings can be made by any means of reproduction rather than only tape recorders.

• Effective date: July 1, 2030.
