Department of Transportation requested to convene an illegal drug shipment prevention working group to create a plan and recommendations for reducing illegal drugs entering Hawaii's harbors and airports.

Working group to include representatives from 20 organizations including FBI, DEA, Coast Guard, Customs and Border Protection, state departments, county police departments, and industry groups such as the Hawaii Harbor Users Group and Airline Committee of Hawaii.

Working group members to select a chair from among themselves and meet minimum of five times between June 1, 2016, and December 31, 2016.

Working group required to submit findings, recommendations, and any proposed legislation to the Legislature no later than twenty days before the 2017 Regular Session convenes.

Working group dissolved on June 30, 2017, with certified copies of resolution transmitted to all participating federal agencies and state/county organizations.
