Expresses legislative endorsement and support for the Department of Land and Natural Resources to use durable and temporary geo-synthetic materials to protect the Kaanapali Beach Walk from shoreline erosion and coastal hazards.

Authorizes protective measures to remain in place until the department's beach nourishment program at Kaanapali Beach can be completed.

Acknowledges that recent storm waves have accelerated shoreline erosion, threatening the approximately 6,000 linear feet of public pedestrian walkways at Kaanapali Beach.

Notes that Kaanapali Beach visitors contribute over $2 billion annually to state and Maui County economies, and that beaches serve as natural buffers against storm damage.

Requires transmission of certified copies to the Chairperson of the Board of Land and Natural Resources and the Mayor of the County of Maui.
