Request the Department of Land and Natural Resources to authorize establishment of a monument on state land at the Naniloa Hotel dock area in Hilo honoring late Senator Gilbert Kahele.

Monument to feature a bronze plaque with wording prepared by the Kahele family, with the point named "Gil Kahele Point," "Kahele Point," or another family-selected name.

Naniloa Hotel and Tower Development Inc. dedicates perpetual license over the dock area land and commits to construct and maintain the monument in first-class condition, including a fishing pole stand with keiki fishing poles available free to the public and hotel guests.

Monument location offers 270-degree ocean views symbolizing Senator Kahele's expansive dedication to public service and his efforts to revitalize Banyan Drive in Hilo and the island of Hawaii.

Transmit certified copies of the resolution to the Board of Land and Natural Resources Chair, Mayor of Hawaii County, and Naniloa Hotel and Tower Development Inc. owners.
