Urges the Governor to provide immediate financial assistance to Wahiawa General Hospital (WGH), a non-profit community hospital serving Central Oahu and the North Shore since 1944.

WGH faces imminent financial failure due to a $7.5 million revenue decline following the reopening of Queen's Medical Center West in May 2014, forcing staff reductions of approximately 75 full-time equivalent employees.

Hospital operates 53 acute care beds and 107 skilled nursing beds, providing emergency services, surgery, and inpatient care to a 60,000-person service area across a 30-mile region from Waialua to Kahuku.

Identifies major financial challenges including $650,000 annually in hospitalist physician costs, over $1.7 million to support hospitalist and specialist physicians, and over $24 million spent on the Family Medicine Residency Program since its inception 23 years ago.

Requests Governor explore potential partnerships with major healthcare systems and organizations to develop a sustainable business model while maintaining WGH's uninterrupted medical services to prevent economic and public health consequences of hospital closure.
