Requests the Office of Planning to convene a working group to conduct a needs-based assessment of farm worker housing throughout Hawaii.

Working group shall include representatives from Hawaii Housing Finance and Development Corporation, Hawaii Public Housing Authority, Department of Land and Natural Resources, Department of Agriculture, Hawaii Farm Bureau, and Hawaii Farmers Union United.

Office of Planning designated as lead agency responsible for coordinating the working group.

Working group required to submit findings, recommendations, and proposed legislation to the Legislature no later than twenty days prior to the Regular Session of 2017.

Addresses the shortage of adequate farm worker housing that reduces available workers and impacts sustainability of small farms in Hawaii.
