Requests the Executive Office on Early Learning to collaborate with the Executive Office on Aging to encourage care providers to create intergenerational shared sites serving both children and elderly adults.

Identifies intergenerational shared sites as settings where children, youth, and older adults participate in services and programs concurrently at the same site or campus.

Notes that successful intergenerational programs already exist in Honolulu, Kapolei, and Kahului with participants engaging in both planned activities and informal interactions.

Recognizes benefits including reduced social isolation for kupuna (elderly), enriched experiences for keiki (children) learning from elders, and increased efficiency for working families needing multiple care services.

Directs certified copies of the resolution to be transmitted to the Director of the Executive Office on Early Learning and the Director of the Executive Office on Aging.
