Requests the Department of Education to convene a working group to review after-school programs in Hawaii's public middle and intermediate schools.

Working group review must include a timeline and inventory of existing programs, current costs and funding sources, and recommendations for improving availability and quality.

Superintendent of Education to serve as chairperson with membership including the Director of Human Services, school principals, police representatives, and representatives from community organizations and the private sector.

Department of Education must convene the working group no later than July 1, 2016, and submit findings and recommendations to the Legislature no later than twenty days before the 2017 Regular Session.

Resolution cites lack of structured after-school funding for middle schools and notes that middle school students currently have limited safe, supervised opportunities between 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.
