Encourages the Hawaii Tourism Authority and Department of Land and Natural Resources to work with community organizations to establish historical markers and trails throughout the state.

Requests that both agencies identify areas that meet criteria for historical trails or walking tours to support cultural heritage tourism.

Directs the Hawaii Tourism Authority and Department of Land and Natural Resources to seek private, county, or federal funding sources for historical trail and marker projects.

References existing successful historical trail projects in Waikiki, Haleiwa, and Lahaina as models for expanding cultural heritage tourism to rural communities.

Requires certified copies of the resolution to be transmitted to the Chairperson of the Board of Land and Natural Resources, Chairperson of the Hawaii Tourism Authority Board, and President and CEO of the Hawaii Tourism Authority.
