Request that the Department of Education appoint an energy czar to develop an energy roadmap and align shareholder groups toward achieving the department's energy goals.

Energy czar must have demonstrated experience managing diversified energy projects, electric utility regulatory experience, energy auditing skills, and ability to integrate renewable energy resources while working with local utilities.

Ideal candidate should possess Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or Certified Energy Procurement Professional (CEP) certification, Bachelor's or Master's degree in related field, and 10-15 years of progressive planning and consulting experience.

Energy czar responsibilities include developing energy policy, assessing utility rates, managing energy systems projects, monitoring energy usage, researching renewable technologies, and serving as public liaison on energy issues.

Certified copies of the resolution shall be transmitted to the Chairperson of the Board of Education and Superintendent of Education.
