Department of Transportation requested to convene an illegal drug shipment prevention working group to create a plan and recommendations for reducing illegal drugs entering Hawaii's harbors and airports.

Working group to include representatives from 20 organizations including federal agencies (FBI, DEA, Coast Guard, Homeland Security, CBP, FAA), state departments, county police departments and prosecutors, and industry groups (Hawaii Harbor Users Group, Airline Committee of Hawaii, International Longshore and Warehouse Union).

Working group members to select a chair from among themselves and meet minimum of five times between June 1, 2016, and December 31, 2016.

Working group must submit findings, recommendations, and any proposed legislation to the Legislature no later than twenty days prior to the start of the 2017 Regular Session.

Working group dissolved on June 30, 2017; certified copies of resolution to be sent to relevant federal, state, and county agencies and organizations.
