Urges the Board of Education and Department of Education to expand world language offerings in Hawaii's public schools based on future workforce development needs of the state and nation.

Requests examination of high school student body populations as a basis for determining which world languages should be expanded in Hawaii's schools.

Recognizes that Hawaii's diverse population includes significant numbers of Asian Pacific residents and immigrant families whose native languages could be incorporated into public school curricula.

Emphasizes that bilingual and multilingual proficiency will benefit students preparing for careers in tourism, military, technology, and other fields requiring language skills.

Directs certified copies of the resolution to be transmitted to the Governor, Chairperson of the Board of Education, and Superintendent of Education.
