Request the Waipiʻo Valley Stakeholders Alliance to coordinate with the Bishop Museum, Kamehameha Schools, Friends of the Future, County of Hawaiʻi, Office of Hawaiian Affairs, Trust For Public Land, State of Hawaiʻi, and other interested parties regarding preservation and stewardship of Waipiʻo Valley.

Require the Waipiʻo Valley Stakeholders Alliance to submit a report to the Legislature no later than twenty days before the 2017 Regular Session with findings, recommendations, and any proposed legislation resulting from stewardship meetings.

Direct certified copies of the resolution be transmitted to the Governor, Office of Hawaiian Affairs, Trust for Public Land, County of Hawaiʻi, Waipiʻo Valley Stakeholders Alliance, Bishop Museum, Kamehameha Schools, and Friends of the Future.

Acknowledge Bishop Museum's intent to sell its 537 acres (approximately 60% of valley floor) that include majority of taro growing lands and significant cultural sites like Pākaalana Heiau.

Recognize Waipiʻo Valley's cultural, historical, agricultural significance as a sacred wahi pana and center of Native Hawaiian culture for centuries, with concerns about health, safety, infrastructure, and environmental management.
