• Requests the Executive Office on Aging and University of Hawaii Center on Aging to establish a working group to review Department of Education adult education services, University of Hawaii free senior enrollment opportunities, and potential new learning opportunities for seniors.

• Working group should consider whether consolidating some programs could provide new and improved learning opportunities while exploring other potentially beneficial senior education programs.

• Encourages inclusion of representatives from the Department of Education, University of Hawaii Center on Aging, UH Vice Presidents for Academic Affairs and Community Colleges, UH Outreach College at Manoa, AARP Hawaii, and Kokua Council.

• Working group members must select a chair from among themselves and submit a report with findings and recommendations to the Legislature no later than twenty days before the 2017 Regular Session convenes.

• Resolution addresses concerns about duplication of services, inefficient multiple-location offerings, and limited funding for senior services.
