Establishes an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse Residency Program within the University of Hawaii Center for Nursing as a 6-9 month training program for newly graduated advanced practice registered nurses.

Requires residency participants to be graduates of accredited nursing programs, hold current Hawaii APRN licensure, and have less than 12 months of experience in their field.

Upon program completion, residents must commit to two years of full-time employment at the facility where they completed their residency in Hawaii.

Dean of the University of Hawaii School of Nursing and Dental Hygiene shall develop the program in cooperation with hospitals and clinics statewide, prioritizing communities where residency education will benefit health care provision.

Appropriates funds for fiscal years 2017-2018 and 2018-2019 to establish one program coordinator position and one clinical placement coordinator position within the UH Center for Nursing.
